Prevent Front Rise Wrinkles on Pants Patterns

Whiskers are for Cats! 😽 We want to avoid them in our pants along that front curve of the rise.

This post covers the first thing to keep in mind when drafting the front panel of your pants. It’s the most common mistake in pant fittings with the front rise. Sometimes it’s just as simple as making the front rise straighter after the crotch curve. It should go 1/4” or 3/8” in, no more. This will prevent any unnecessary tension on the fabric because you will have enough fabric to zip up your pants with no bulging.
